Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
Holy Cross celebrates Shrove Tuesday each year with a pancake supper in the Genesis Room. This year, the pancake supper will be on Tuesday, February 13th at 6:00pm in the Genesis Room. The men of Holy Cross and youth lead this event. There will be a signup sheet in the Genesis Room for those who would like to cook or help with preparations.
Easter Brunch
On Easter Sunday, Holy Cross has a brunch between services. This is a great time to fellowship with one another and celebrate Easter! Parishioners are welcome to bring their favorite brunch food to share. There will be a signup sheet in the Genesis Room.
Holy Cross Day
Holy Cross Day will be celebrated on September 15, 2024. The celebration will take place on September 18th. We will have a special service at 9:30am, followed by a look at the history of Holy Cross and its members. Lunch will be provided in the Genesis Room at 11:00am.
Lenten Lunch (ECW)
ECW partners with First Methodist Trussville for their Holy Week sermon series and luncheon. Holy Cross ECW prepares and serves lunch on the Monday of Holy Week at First Methodist. Service begins at noon and lunch at 12:30. Our Rector also gives a sermon during the week. Our Rector will give a sermon on Good Friday at First Methodist from 12:00-12:30pm followed by a lunch!
Christmas Parade:
Hot Chocolate & Doughnuts
The city of Trussville has a Christmas parade in early December each year. Holy Cross participates in the Parade by offering free hot chocolate and doughnuts to those watching the parade on Holy Cross grounds.
ECW Rummage Sale
ECW Souper Bowl Sunday Sale
ECW sells soups and other goodies for your Super Bowl Party. Items are available for sale between services on Super Bowl Sunday, February 11th, 2024.
Blessing of the Animals
This is a informal outdoor service where people are welcome to bring their four legged best friend to be blessed. Animals of all sizes are welcome! The service will be held on Holy Cross grounds on St. Francis Day, October 4th!
Birmingham Bible Reading Marathon
Holy Cross was so pleased to be the location for the Birmingham Bible Reading this year and will host again in 2024! This event is 82 continuous hours of Bible reading and will take place on May 2nd-5th. People from all over Birmingham come to participate, and it is open to people of all ages.
Trunk or Treat
Each year, Holy Cross parishioners decorate their trunks and give candy to all the children trick of treating in the neighborhood. This is a great event for the community and it is enjoyed by all!
